4 Saint Martin de Porres High School Winter 2020 News
The 2019-20 school year kicked o when the Class of 2023 arrived two weeks before school started to participate in the New Student Leadership Institute. This Institute marked the beginning of their professional journey and students were introduced to what it means to be a Lion. They learned how to network with professionals, traveled around Cleveland to see di erent job sites, and were trained on important o ce skills such as ling, Microsoft Excel, and copy/fax machines. As the year continued, we celebrated our long held Saint Martin tradition of the Mass of the Holy Spirit, where we welcomed all new sta members and students into the Saint Martin family.
Outside of classroom learning and their Corporate Work Study jobs, students experienced a semester full of community building and fun. From bonding day at Main Event for our Freshmen and Seniors where students had the chance to zipline and play arcade games
to celebrating Spirit Week by dressing as their favorite cartoon characters, students put fun into every week of the semester.
Other highlights included our Masquerade-themed Homecoming where students enjoyed dancing all night long. We had a great rst semester and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
