As the season of giving inspires generosity across Northeast Ohio, Saint Martin de Porres High School is celebrating the continued commitment of The Lozick Family Foundation to the school’s Corporate Work Study (CWS) Program.
The Foundation has recently committed $250,000 annually for the next three years to strengthen Corporate Work Study through a challenge grant, matching every dollar given from private sector sources up to $250,000. This newest investment builds upon the Foundation’s longstanding partnership with Saint Martin since the school’s founding and its belief in preparing today’s students with the skills and confidence to succeed in Cleveland’s workforce.
“The Lozick Family Foundation’s generosity goes far beyond financial support and reflects a shared commitment to preparing students for college, their careers and life,” said Chaz Napoli, President of Saint Martin de Porres High School. “This challenge grant not only accelerates the growth of Corporate Work Study but also invites our broader community to join in multiplying its impact.”
Saint Martin de Porres High School is widely recognized for its innovative Corporate Work Study model, which places students in professional jobs with organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. Students work one day each week, gaining exposure to workplace expectations while earning money to help offset the cost of tuition. Over four years, each student graduates with approximately 1,200 hours of professional experience, a polished resume, and a network of mentors and professional contacts.
The new challenge grant will directly support the ongoing growth and refinement of Corporate Work Study, ensuring students receive the training, coaching, and workplace preparation needed for today’s workforce. Through career exploration, workshops, career readiness training, credential attainment, career exposure, and coaching, students develop skills that align with real business needs while strengthening partnerships with participating organizations.
