Adam Trifiro Named New Saint Martin Principal

Posted November 20, 2020 in Press Releases

Dear Faculty, Staff, Students, and Families,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the promotion of Adam Trifiro from interim to permanent Principal of Saint Martin de Porres High School! Effective immediately, Mr. Trifiro will assume responsibility for leading the school’s continued charge toward academic excellence.

In conducting our search, Saint Martin de Porres High School identified qualities deemed important in our new leader. S/he should be highly effective at improving academic performance and rigor and focused on the growth of both our scholars and faculty. We sought a leader who drives academic achievement and embraces our Catholic principles. Throughout the search and interview process, Mr. Trifiro demonstrated his passion for the school and commitment to our continued pursuit of excellence and top ratings among schools in the Cristo Rey Network and in greater Cleveland. He continually stood out as the top candidate, and we are thoroughly excited he has accepted our offer.

Mr. Trifiro joined the Saint Martin community in 2018 as the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction. In that role he worked diligently to improve our scholars’ academic performance by using a student-centered and restorative approach. Prior to joining Saint Martin, Mr. Trifiro worked in the private sector for a short period, but realizing his passion for student achievement and educational equity, he quickly pivoted back to what felt natural – being in the classroom. Mr. Trifiro has 13 years of experience in academia, having served as a science teacher in both the Baltimore Public Schools and Cleveland Metropolitan School District for a total of 9 years before joining Saint Martin. While in the classroom he always strived for student success and was motivated by his belief in the potential of every student.

Mr. Trifiro graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. He continued his education at Johns Hopkins, where he earned a Master of Education in 2009 and a Master of Science in Biotechnology in 2013.

He brings many strengths to the school’s Leadership Team and the community as a whole. His background in science, dedication to students, and commitment to collaboration with an emphasis on restorative practices align well with the direction of our school.

Mr. Trifiro lives in Cleveland Heights with his wife, Holly, and son, Tate. He is an avid runner, Star Wars fan, and loves spending time with family. He also likes to visit the National Parks and read about the natural sciences, history, and educational practice and policy.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Trifiro on his next journey as Principal of Saint Martin de Porres High School.

Sincerely,

Chaz Napoli, President
