New School Year, New Rotation

Posted May 30, 2019 in Student Newspaper

Author: Cherish McNeil, Class of 2021

As many students may have heard, there is going to be a change in the Corporate Work Study days next school year. Monday will no longer be the rotation work day and it will instead take place on Friday. As a result, Freshmen will work on Mondays, Sophomores will work on Tuesdays, Juniors will work on Wednesdays, and Seniors will work on Thursdays. Now, I bet you're wondering why this change is occurring. We talked with CWSP team member Alexis Crosby and she noted there are several reasons for the change. “A lot of companies said they don’t love to have students dedicated on Fridays like sophomores are because a lot of people in the business world like to take time off on Fridays,” She also explained “there will be a small handful of days, throughout the school year on Friday’s where we are just going to be able to cancel work altogether, nobody’s going to go to work, and those will be the days that we will have all school events like pep rallies and field day so that every grade level can participate and no one misses out.” Saint Martin faculty and staff have not yet decided whether Friday will be delayed start like Monday’s currently are or early dismissal. Further information will be released in the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
