Saint Martin de Porres High School, known throughout the Cleveland region for its unique Corporate Work Study Program, is proud to announce a four-year, $1.32 million grant to assist with the evolution of the school's work study model. The donation was made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor who believes strongly in the Corporate Work Study Program, and its role in the development of young men and women for Cleveland's work-force.
"We are so honored and grateful to be the recipient of this incredible gift," said Saint Martin President Chaz Napoli. "It is through our supporter's time, talent, and treasure that allows our Corporate Work Study Program to flourish. This donation is a real game changer in the development of our work study program partner relationships, and the improvement of student job and academic readiness."
Through Saint Martin's Corporate Work Study Program, each student works 5 days a month at an organization in Northeast Ohio. The salaries our students earn through the work study program will off-set over one-third of the cost of their education. Students find real-world learning opportunities and are exposed to careers, industries, relationships, and situations that help prepare them for college, career and life success. Each student graduates with approximately 1,600 hours of real work experience, a network of support, and a résumé comparable to most college graduates. Through this philanthropy, Saint Martin will be able to provide the training necessary to meet today's work requirements, and benefit all of our incredible organizational partners.
