Tucker Ellis LLP: Meet Josh Rose '19

When you drive along the lakeshore and into the resurgent Flats area of Cleveland you are immediately struck by the incredible views of Lake Erie and our beloved city outside the windows of Tucker Ellis LLP. Founded by 65 lawyers in 2003, the well-known law firm has grown to 215 lawyers in 7 great cities around the country. Tucker Ellis LLP not only strives for all they encounter to have a better law firm experience, but they are very involved in community outreach throughout our region. Every July 16 is just one example of that in which they affectionately call “TE Day”. On this day, the offices are closed and everyone in the firm is encouraged to use the time to do something extraordinarily meaningful for those in need.

It’s very evident that creating a wonderful work environment for their employees is important, and one Saint Martin senior, Josh Rose, is the beneficiary of working with such great people. When you meet Josh, you’ll immediately find a young man who is very engaging, greets you with a smile and firm handshake, and willing to do anything for anyone. He is the perfect fit in a professional environment like Tucker Ellis LLP, and his supervisor, T’Keyah Strickland agrees, “Josh is outgoing, very cheerful, energetic and intelligent,” said the Tucker Ellis LLP Records Assistant. “He interacts so well with others, no matter who it is.”

The law firm definitely keeps Josh busy working on computers, filing, indexing, archiving files, corresponding to emails, delivering documents to attorneys, along with other tasks. “No two days are the same and I really like that,” said Josh with a smile. “I absolutely love working for T’Keyah. She is very friendly, gives great advice on everything, and is always there to help me understand the process of what we are trying to accomplish.”

Once Josh graduates from Saint Martin in June, he wants to study business management in college. Where that will be is undecided at this point, but he knows his passion is to eventually run marketing campaigns in the business world. “The work here has been great! It has helped me so much with my management and business skills,” said Josh. “My work study experience has definitely influenced my decision to go into business.”

He stays very involved, not only at Saint Martin, but outside of the school as well. Josh worked on the campaigns for both Dennis Kucinich and Sherrod Brown while being involved in the school’s social media club, and student senate. He is very aware of what the Corporate Work Study Program means for he and his classmates. “Other than the students, it is my favorite component of Saint Martin. You’re getting all the experience that you’ll need for the workforce and deciding on what you want your future to be.” T’Keyah is also a big fan of the work study program, “The students get better each year,” she said. “They bring the best out in the company and get a lot of work done. It gives the students an incredible professional experience and something to have on their resume when they graduate. Saint Martin is a great school, and I love having their students here and investing in their futures.”

Tucker Ellis LLP is one of 120 organizations we are proud to call partners, and our CWSP staff is always looking to add more.
