The Amazing Story of Anastasia Sakairoun '14

Anastasia Sakairoun has built a career rooted in service, leadership, and advocacy since graduating from Saint Martin de Porres High School in 2014. Today, she serves as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, carrying with her the values and experiences that first shaped her at Saint Martin.

During her time at Saint Martin, Anastasia participated in Corporate Work Study, gaining experience at organizations including Amresco, Valmark Securities, Benesch Law, MetroHealth, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Her placement at Benesch Law solidified her desire to pursue a legal career. There, she saw firsthand the impact attorneys can have on people during critical moments in their lives and began to picture herself in that role.

After graduating from Saint Martin, Anastasia attended Bowling Green State University, earning a degree in Political Science with a focus in American Government and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Inspired by the Cristo Rey model, she began her career working at Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School before continuing her education at Cleveland State University College of Law. While in law school, she interned with the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States House of Representatives Small Business Committee and received the Learn Law Live Justice Award. She was also a judicial extern at the Northern District of Ohio for Judge Phil Calabrese.

Outside of academics and career preparation, Anastasia says Saint Martin helped shape her understanding of service and leadership. Through Campus Ministry, the Catholic Worker Storefront, and an immersion trip to El Salvador, she learned the value of humility, gratitude, and compassion. Today, she continues to live out those values through her legal work and civic involvement with organizations like The Wholeness Project and Pretty Girls Pray. Anastasia’s journey reflects how a Saint Martin education can empower students to lead lives of purpose and meaningful impact.

From Corporate Work Study placements to service opportunities through Campus Ministry, Saint Martin has helped shape every stage of Anastasia’s journey. The school not only prepared her academically and professionally but also instilled in her a deep sense of compassion, confidence, and purpose. Whether through mentorship, leadership opportunities, or support while preparing for law school, Anastasia credits Saint Martin with giving her the foundation to pursue a career dedicated to serving others and creating meaningful impact in her community.
