Learning, Leading, and Growing: Saint Martin Students at Parker Hannifin

Michelle Creer, a Global Compliance Manager at Parker Hannifin, has proudly served as a Corporate Work Study Supervisor for five years. As a youth pastor, Michelle is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential, and serving as a Corporate Work Study supervisor allows her to combine that passion with her professional experience. Parker Hannifin is a founding Corporate Work Study partner and has employed Saint Martin students for more than 20 years, building lasting relationships and positively impacting countless Saint Martin students along the way.

Currently, Elijah ’27 is a Student Associate at Parker Hannifin, where Michelle serves as his supervisor. Elijah has worked at Parker Hannifin for the past two years, gaining valuable experience and developing skills he will carry into his future career. His primary responsibility is supporting one of the monthly global processes, working extensively in Microsoft Excel while assisting the Audit & Compliance team. Elijah has excelled in this role so much that Michelle is now training him in additional aspects of the process. “He grasps the concept quickly, so we are always trying to challenge him,” Michelle shared, adding that she has great confidence in Elijah’s abilities and trusts him with increasingly complex responsibilities.

She has also challenged him to research and develop presentations on a variety of topics, learning to tailor each one so it reflects Parker’s perspective and goals. Michelle is also introducing Elijah to new tools used by the team, including Parker’s internal AI resources, ensuring he develops modern workplace skills that will benefit his future.Last year Elijah presented his research during his year-end report to the team, building not only his knowledge but also valuable public speaking and communication skills.

Michelle emphasizes that any company interested in Saint Martin’s Corporate Work Study program should remember that these students are teenagers and approach them with both credit and grace. “Elijah contributes more than he probably realizes,” Michelle shared. “He’s dependable, eager to learn, and our team truly enjoys having him here. Adding that the team looks forward to teaching him even more skills during his senior year. Michelle believes that Corporate Work Study is making a meaningful difference and is excited for Parker Hannifin to continue being a part of this journey.
