Alumni Spotlight: Tomislav Perkovic '17

Opportunity.

What Tomislav Perkovic ‘17 believes to be the greatest thing that Saint Martin gave him. This opportunity came in a variety of forms from campus involvement, professional skills, scholarships, and even his current full time job.

Tomislav was an active member of the Saint Martin community as a member of the Robotics & Photography clubs, a baseball player, and a Howley Scholar. He worked the majority of his Corporate Work Study career at Parker Hannifin, where he built a special relationship with two of his co-workers. From his experience, he learned the importance of organization and time management, how to complete a project from start to finish, and improved his communication skills…all things that would benefit him as a college student and now as a young professional.

On his last day of Corporate Work Study, his Parker Hannifin co-workers even gifted him a bicycle to use for traveling across his soon-to-be college campus.

As Tomislav headed off to college, he was fortunate to attend the University of Akron on a full ride scholarship from Precision Castparts Corp (PCC), who provide scholarships to both current Saint Martin students as well as 1-2 graduating seniors. He majored in Computer Information Systems, with a focus in Cybersecurity and graduated with his degree in December 2021.

Thanks to his connections to the individuals who provided his PCC scholarship, Tomislav was able to network and land a job as a Network Technician for PCC Airfoils. His main duties include ensuring devices are working from an IT perspective, answering help desk tickets, working on security projects, and attending meetings.

Tomislav is grateful for all that Saint Martin has given him. He knows his current success and full time job would not have been possible without his connections and the people he met because of Saint Martin. “I cannot imagine what my life would be if I did not attend Saint Martin. I was given an opportunity to explore not only career options but also myself as a person. Saint Martin really showed me the world of possibilities that I had after high school and to advance myself to the level that I am at now.”
