Kevyn Chavez '20 Receives Full Ride College Scholarship

Congratulations to Kevyn Chavez, Class of 2020, who received the Dewine Family FULL RIDE college scholarship to Spring Hill College in Alabama! When asked to give some words of wisdom to the Saint Martin community during these difficult times, Kevyn wrote:

You know I told myself I would get a full-ride scholarship. Many people questioned me and all I could respond with was "I'll find a way. Just know I'm not paying for college." I didn't say this to be smart or as a joke because I worked for this opportunity. And sometimes it was the hardest thing to do. And at the moment it honestly still is. For those out there right now that aren't feeling their best, I understand. But, sadly the world doesn't stop and wait for us. So I encourage you to keep moving forward and to do the best that you can. If you need a little bit more support, reach out to your friends, teachers, or the counselors. Honestly reach out to anyone at Saint Martin because we are a community that is here to help and build each other up. Now on the contrary.... f you feel on top of the world right now, keep on doing what you're doing so that if your world does come to a stop, your hard work will make up for it. Although the situation we are in isn't ideal try to make the best of it and get that work turned in. To my fellow classmates/peers, if there's anyone who needs help, I'm here. I mean I'll try my best even if it's something from my freshman year. It's going to be great everyone so let's finish this year off strong. I know that we can do it!

Love, Kevyn
