Summary of major position responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 80% Fundraising: Support Annual Fund process, support the ongoing Strategic Funds Development program, focus on donor cultivation and special gift program; 20% Communications: quarterly newsletter and annual report, creating and updating marketing materials, and school website maintenance/updates.

Responsibilities:
1. Routine reporting of progress and plans.
2. Support the creation, planning, implementation and achievement of the Annual Fund with a current fundraising goal of $300,000.
3. Support the creation, planning, implementation and achievement of the Strategic Funds Development program.
4. Under the supervision of the Vice President prospect corporate and individual sponsors for our annual event, secure sponsorships and develop relationships.
5. Attend “Meet and Greet” sessions. Be an ambassador for the school to visitors.
6. Acquire knowledge of Advancement Databases. Work with the Advancement team to keep records up to date.
7. Coordinate web site content update with webmaster.
8. Support Corporate Work Study Program in areas aligned to Advancement.
9. Performs duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree

Summary of position responsibilities:
The program coordinator is the primary interface with the students and corporate sponsors when related to work and their job assignments/supervisors. He/She is the primary coordinator for a number of issues directly related to students and their success in the CWSP. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

1. Sponsor Relations
a. Responsible for maintaining contact with up to 35 CWSP sponsors in regards to student performance. Coordinate primary contact functions including updating databases, regular phone call and emails, visits, evaluations and re-contracting
b. Prepare sponsor folders with completed I-9, W-4 forms, work permits and student profiles
c. Assist in other sponsor related activities such as sponsor recruitment
2. Student Performance/Coaching
a. Schedule and coordinate individual and group meetings with students and CWSP representatives and other school personnel as needed, utilizing sponsor feedback
b. Prepare, distribute, collect and analyze student and sponsor feedback – sponsor averages, student averages, year to year performance comparison
c. Work with Dean in regards to JUGS
d. Coordinate holiday work addendums for students
e. Address and enforce all school policies with an emphasis on discipline and dress code
3. Transportation
a. Coordinate and assign routes for morning and afternoon.
b. Work with transportation company to ensure routes are being completed in a timely fashion
4. Attendance/Dress Code
a. Prepare daily check in/check out attendance sheet
b. Identify and correct and inappropriate attire
c. Record and track any tardiness and absences
d. Confiscate any electronic equipment such as cell phones, pagers, CD players, etc…
5. Summer Training Institute
a. Work with CWSP staff to assist in coordinating the three week training program for al new and returning students – organizing workshops, coordinating instructors/students as well as coordinating all related events such as Parent and Sponsor orientations
6. Special Events Coordination
a. Assist CWSP staff with “Bring Your Parent to Work”, “Teacher to Work” and any other special CWSP events
7. New Sponsor Recruitment
a. Assist CWSP staff in identifying new sponsors
b. Assist CWSP staff in identifying new marketing strategies
c. Maintaining and improving CWSP web pages
8. New Student Recruitment
a. Assist Admissions Staff with High School Nights, Open Houses, and other admissions related events
b. Assist CWSP staff in New Student Interviews

Education requirements:
B.A. from Accredited University/College

Experience:
1-3 Years working in an urban or Catholic School.

Required skills:
Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel and mail merge capabilities. Flexibility in work schedule to include some evening and weekend work.
Understanding of Catholic Education with an emphasis on urban education

St. Martin de Porres High School is looking for a group of unique teachers to be part of an innovative urban college-prep high school experience. We are seeking teachers to expand our staff to accommodate next year’s 9th and 10th grade classes. Projected 2008-2009 enrollment will be 410 students with maximum enrollment for 9th through 12th grade of between 400 to 500 students.

Our school’s mission is to educate academically qualified students who have no other option for a private college prep program due to their economic background. Our goal is 100% high school graduation rate and acceptance into a four year accredited university. Our student body is racially diverse being made up of 65% African-American, 20% Anglo, 15% Latino and Asian and a male/female ratio of 40/60 respectively.

As a community we emphasize student growth in the areas of “WORK, STUDY, SERVICE, LEADERSHIP and PRAYER.”

To help alleviate the cost of tuition every student is part of the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). All students work five days a month. This work component assigns student jobs in entry level administrative corporate positions. The work program covers approximately 75% of the annual tuition. The school is not tuition driven.

Teacher responsibilities at St. Martin de Porres High School include but not limited to:
• Teach in a modified block schedule of 60 minute classes with daily schedule changes to accommodate those students absent due to work.
• Develop lesson plans in accordance to the school’s innovative curriculum.
• Accept the school’s mission and belief statements concerning student learning.
• Expected to turn in lesson plans weekly and class syllabus quarterly.
• Coordinate field trips for curricular and extra-curricular activities; usually 3 per year.
• Act as advisor to approximately 14 assigned students and manage their school portfolios.
• Communicate with parents/guardian of advisory students at least twice a month.
• Participate in at least 2 school Open Houses.
• Participate in at least 4 school admissions interview processes.
• Prepare students to successfully complete the OGT and ACT tests.
• Participate in the development of the school’s teaching policies, procedures and methodologies.

A candidate for a teaching position at St. Martin de Porres High School should have proven experience successfully teaching under their certificate.
• Able and willing to work an extended day. Required hours are 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Faculty and staff typically work 55-60 hours in a week including planning and
extra-curricular activities.
• Preferably, has successful experience working with students in an urban setting.
• Has successful classroom experience in a non-traditional classroom setting.
• Is comfortable in an educational setting that has a philosophy founded in a professional collaborative effort, peer review, and multidisciplinary lesson planning.
• Has an understanding of the high school reform movement.
• Has an understanding that the school is young and developing landmark policies in education. The new teacher must be prepared to be flexible in all matters involving teaching, school administration and program and curriculum development.
• Must be able to teach students successfully using and creating differentiated lesson planning and teaching techniques. Classes are not adjusted for “student tracking”.
• Must be capable of communicating the importance of and ability to build literacy into their subject area.
• Must be comfortable with and willing to accept the existing technology of the school and expected future significant enhancements; this includes Palm Pilots, Smartboards, wireless laptop technology, grading programs and other associated hardware and software. This technology must be a significant part of the daily lesson structure.

Education Requirements: Preferred is a Master’s Degree in Education. Bachelor’s degree in education with a major or minor in your teaching field; appropriate licensure.

Experience: Prefer 3+ teaching years in an urban environment
