Being here has made my faith strong. I love learning about my faith. The older I get, the more I appreciate what my faith is about.

Ms. Ann Klonowski

Ann Klonowski attended Ohio University and graduated from Ohio State University with a major in elementary education. She taught English and science in a semi-rural school outside Columbus for two years before serving two years in the Peace Corps where she taught English as a foreign language.

While her children were growing up, Ms. Klonowski worked as a volunteer in many capacities in her children’s schools and in other work, notably as a liturgical musician and director of a church band. Ms. K was also very active as a volunteer with the Marriage and Family Office of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland where she developed a curriculum for the Couple Ministry Training Program. With her spouse, she directed the training of scores of married couples so that they could minister to engaged couples to prepare them for marriage. In addition, she and her spouse worked as certified Natural Family Planning instructors, teaching married and engaged couples fertility awareness.

Ms. Klonowski returned to school and earned a master’s degree in religious studies from John Carroll University. For several years she taught theology at Notre Dame College of Ohio and at John Carroll University. She spent six years teaching theology at Trinity High School in Garfield Heights before joining St. Martin de Porres as a charter member of the faculty.

Ms. Klonowski has often said that teaching at St. Martin’s is the job she has been looking for all her life. She loves her students and her colleagues and is delighted to be here. A lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, Ms. K. makes her home with her spouse, Alan. She has two adult children and a granddaughter.
